The New School Study Center │ Union Square │ New York, NY

The New School’s new 16,000sf Study Center, opening in Fall 2014 on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, is designed to give students from all of the school’s disparate disciplines a place to convene, study and collaborate on projects. The project houses a library, a cafe, multiple collaborative and co-working spaces and pinup and display space for student work. Energy efficient lighting and regionally reclaimed materials are used throughout the space. Reclaimed cardboard carpet tubes, recycled denim insulation and industrial felt treatments are being developed as acoustical treatments for Library and Reading room.
